What is a Grassroots movement? Does the Left have one or are they simply highjaking an idea?
Grassroots is defined as:
1.
The common or ordinary people, especially as contrasted with the leadership or elite of a political party, social organization, etc.; the rank and file.
2.
the agricultural and rural areas of a country.
3.
the people inhabiting these areas, especially as a political, social, or economic group.
4.
The origin or basis of something; the basic or primary concept, rule, part, or the like.
adjective Also, grass-roots.
5.
Of, pertaining to, or involving the common people, especially as contrasted with or separable from an elite: a grassroots movement for nuclear disarmament.
So we have learned from the plain definition of the word "Grassroots" that is NOT supplied with wealth from the top down as its support. Grassroots are born from the ground up not the top down, that is simple basic common sense. Why then are we looking at the wall Street protestors as a Grassroots movement when ALL the finances for the entire thing are coming from a BILLIONAIRE named Soros?
In order to be Grassroots you must first be nothing and develop step by step slowly gaining your base from the COMMON PEOPLE not from the enemy of the common people. If you HATE WEALTH THEN DO NOT GO TO THE RICH TO SUPPORT YOU, that is hypocritical at its start and makes a statement that you are insincere and phony! If the Wall-Street protestors were for real they would FIRST and foremost NOT be protesting on Wall-Street they would set up camps inside every College campus, because their TENURED PROFESSORS are what sky-rockets their TUITION'S NOT WALL-STREET BANKERS.
The entire idea that any protest around the world from Egypt to Wall-Street are 'Grassroots Movements' is insanity at its core. Every one of these movement were peopled and financed by Wealthy Left wing, Socialist Communist, and Terror connected groups. They are the TRUE 'ASTROTURF' that Nancy was worried about because she has heard talk like this before!
Unlike genuine grassroots activism which tends to be money-poor but people-rich, astroturf campaigns are typically people-poor but cash-rich. Funded heavily by corporate largesse, they use sophisticated computer databases, telephone banks and hired organizers like the Unions to rope less-informed activists into sending letters to their elected officials or engaging in other actions that create the appearance of grassroots support for their client's cause.
